How to Use Vanilla Beans
To use vanilla beans like a professional pastry chef, first take out the vanilla bean and check if it has any mold due to poor storage. Next, place the bean on a cutting board and either split it lengthwise using the side of a knife or cut it open with pointed scissors. After splitting, use the back of the knife to scrape out the vanilla seeds. Then, place the seeds along with the pod into milk and heat it to about 50 to 60°C to fully release the vanilla aroma. Finally, strain out the pod, leaving the seeds in the milk, which will then be infused with the natural vanilla aroma.

How to Store Vanilla Beans
The vanilla beans available on the market are usually sold in vacuum-sealed packaging, which helps to ensure that they remain fresh for an extended period. If you are not using them, it is recommended not to open the package, as vacuum-sealed vanilla beans can be preserved for several months. Once the packaging is opened, any unused vanilla beans should be stored in a vacuum container and kept in a cool, dry place to prevent them from absorbing moisture and developing mold.

If you want a stronger vanilla flavor in the milk, you can first heat the milk with the vanilla bean and then allow it to cool. Next, refrigerate the mixture overnight to allow the vanilla aroma to fully infuse. The following day, strain out the pod to obtain richly flavored vanilla milk.
