香草豆莢剖面

恭喜各位蘭友,香草豆莢能熬過今年5月份的高溫還有生理落莢,但實際上殘留的豆莢,還需要經過一段漫長的240天的成熟時間,這段時間還有其他狀況會發生,也請勿提早採收,因為香莢蘭的食用部位是果莢內的種子,所以種子的數量多寡是優質果莢的關鍵,所以請大家耐心等候,花期約6月初結束,果莢約明年的1-2月份成熟採收,才是正確的時間點,提早採收的果莢雖然外觀沒有太大的差異,但是縱向剖面的果莢,內含的種子數量極少,還有部分的種子未發育完全,所以提早採收是絕對不正確的,以下附上9月份拍攝的果莢照片提供給大家參考。

這次從園區採樣了不同區域的三條果莢,拍攝縱向剖面,發現果莢有咖啡色的種子與細小白色未發育的胚,咖啡色的種子可能是發育不完全的種子,因5月份的熱障礙而造成的狀況,而白色未發育的胚不知道是否跟熱障礙有關,後續的發育狀況需等到10月待觀察,所以果莢還需要花更多時間等待,剖開果莢的汁液建議戴上手套,避免碰到皮膚會有刺癢的情況。
