恭喜各位蘭友，香草豆莢能熬過今年5月份的高溫還有生理落莢，但實際上殘留的豆莢，還需要經過一段漫長的240天的成熟時間，這段時間還有其他狀況會發生，也請勿提早採收，因為香莢蘭的食用部位是果莢內的種子，所以種子的數量多寡是優質果莢的關鍵，所以請大家耐心等候，花期約6月初結束，果莢約明年的1-2月份成熟採收，才是正確的時間點，提早採收的果莢雖然外觀沒有太大的差異，但是縱向剖面的果莢，內含的種子數量極少，還有部分的種子未發育完全，所以提早採收是絕對不正確的，以下附上9月份拍攝的果莢照片提供給大家參考。
這次從園區採樣了不同區域的三條果莢，拍攝縱向剖面，發現果莢有咖啡色的種子與細小白色未發育的胚，咖啡色的種子可能是發育不完全的種子，因5月份的熱障礙而造成的狀況，而白色未發育的胚不知道是否跟熱障礙有關，後續的發育狀況需等到10月待觀察，所以果莢還需要花更多時間等待，剖開果莢的汁液建議戴上手套，避免碰到皮膚會有刺癢的情況。
