Taiwan Vanilla Pompona
Vanilla Pompona is a rare vanilla species with a rich floral and fruity aroma, highly valued in premium food and fragrance markets due to its high vanillin content.
A Journey of Dedication and Challenge
The birth of Heavenly Perfume V.pompona was anything but easy. When I first encountered Pompona vanilla beans, I was captivated by their enormous pods. But more than their appearance, it was the fragrance that instantly filled the air as I approached them that left a lasting impression.
In 2016, I embarked on my journey to cultivate Vanilla Pompona. However, there was very little information available about this species, and even fewer people in Taiwan had experience growing it. Yet, the more unknowns I encountered, the stronger my curiosity grew, igniting an insatiable drive to explore. In the first year, I planted hope. In the second year, I faced overwhelming setbacks. Vanilla Pompona struggled to produce pods in Taiwan, with an extremely high fruit drop rate, making it nearly unviable for production. As the challenges mounted, I found myself questioning: "Is this path even possible?"
That was when I made a pivotal decision—to travel to the native growing regions myself and search for answers.
A Thousand Miles in Search of an Answer
In a foreign land where I knew no one, struggled with the language, and even encountered local scams that nearly derailed my journey, I stood in the vast fields of another country, questioning my purpose. Then, a quote from Shakespeare came to mind: “Everything we experience is part of our future.” I chose to believe in the significance of this journey. With nothing but an old phone constantly on the verge of dying and my barely passable English, I slowly made my way into the local community. I witnessed the environment firsthand, studied their cultivation techniques, and fully immersed myself in learning the intricacies of post-harvest processing.
Heavenly Perfume V.pompona
Scent is the key to memory.
This fragrance does not come from a distant land. It comes from Taiwan, from this very soil, and from the vanilla farm we have nurtured with our own hands.
Upon returning to Taiwan, I began refining my cultivation methods and adapting the species to its new environment. However, the road was anything but easy. In my farm, I had four Bourbon varieties and three Tahitian varieties, and I initially considered crossbreeding. But there was one major challenge—each variety had a different flowering period, making it nearly impossible to synchronize their blooms. Then one day, due to an unexpected shift in climate, something remarkable happened—a Madagascar-grown Tahitian variety and Vanilla Pompona bloomed at the same time. Seizing this rare opportunity, I conducted a crossbreeding experiment, and from that moment, a new variety was born—Heavenly Perfume. This new variety exhibited gigantic stems, leaves, and aerial roots, a hallmark of large-flowered vanilla species, classifying it as part of the large-flower group.
At the time, I thought I had overcome the biggest hurdle—successful harvests. But soon, a new challenge arose. “Something about this scent feels… incomplete. It lacks a soul.” Looking back, this journey had been one of endless failures and setbacks. But as Winston Churchill once said, “Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.” So, I persisted. I spent years conducting trial after trial, refining techniques, until I finally unlocked the secret to a post-harvest aging process that fully revealed the unique fragrance of this vanilla.
After nine years of dedication and perseverance, Taiwan’s very own Heavenly Perfume V.pompona is finally here!
“Scent is the gateway to memory.” I don’t remember where I first heard this phrase, but it has always lingered in my mind.
I still vividly recall that moment. I picked up a freshly cured Heavenly Perfume vanilla bean and gently rolled it between my palms. As the warmth of my hands caressed the pod, the fragrance began to unfold—the deep intensity of cacao, the comforting warmth of caramel, the airy lightness of berries, and a final lingering floral note. “If there were perfume in heaven, this is what it would smell like.” That thought came to me instinctively, and the name "Heavenly Perfume" was born. This fragrance has the power to transport people to their most beautiful memories.
"This scent deserves to be remembered by the world."

常見問答 FAQ FAQ FAQ
Heavenly Perfume vanilla beans have a rich and multi-layered flavor profile, featuring delicate notes of floral, fruity, caramel, creamy, and berry aromas.
The correct way to experience its aroma is to rub the vanilla bean with your hands at room temperature and then smell the fragrance left on your hands. This allows the complex layers of aroma to gradually unfold. Directly smelling the vanilla bean may result in an overwhelming scent.
Another method is to take a small piece of the vanilla bean, rub it with sugar to create vanilla sugar, and then mix it into milk to make vanilla milk, allowing you to appreciate its nuanced flavors more subtly.
Since Heavenly Perfume vanilla beans are larger in size, it is recommended to measure them by weight. For example:
If a recipe calls for 4g of Bourbon vanilla beans → Use 4g of Heavenly Perfume vanilla beans instead.
If a recipe calls for 4g of Tahitian vanilla beans → Use 4g of Heavenly Perfume vanilla beans instead.
As the flavor of Heavenly Perfume vanilla is 5 times stronger than Bourbon and 2 times stronger than Tahitian, it is not recommended to use an entire bean at once.
